Vera Constantineau

Vera Constantineau lives in Copper Cliff, Ontario part of the City of Greater Sudbury. She published her first haiku over ten years ago, but has been a fan of haiku for many more years than that. In 2020 Vera was appointed to a two-year term as the Sixth Poet Laureate of the City of Greater Sudbury. She currently produces a monthly podcast called the P. L. Pod which will conclude when her term as poet laureate ends.

Vera’s work has been selected for publication in Modern Haiku, Presence Haiku Journal, Hedgerow, bottle rockets, Wales Haiku Journal and the Haibun Journal. In 2020 Vera placed third in the Martin Lucas Haiku Award and earned an honourable mention in the Vancouver International Cherry Blossom Haiku Contest. She has an interest in writing all forms of poetry including tanka, senryu and haibun.
